We get it!

The sun is finally out, the sky is that impossible shade of blue, and every part of you is itching to bolt from work and hit the newly opened mountain bike trails. The last thing you want to think about is going inside and lifting some weights.

But here's the thing...you don't have to choose.

A well-planned training program doesn't compete with your bike season, your paddle season, your hiking season, or whatever gets your heart pumping when the weather turns. It fuels it.

The strength you build in the gym is exactly what keeps your legs turning on that last climb, your shoulders steady on a technical descent, and your body resilient enough to keep doing the things you love all season long.

Year-round training isn't about grinding through beautiful days staring at a wall. It's about being strategic. And honestly? Vermont weather gives us every excuse to be exactly that.

Start your week by peeking at the forecast. Save the sunny days for the trails. Bank the rainy ones for the gym. That mid-week drizzle that would've turned a ride into a miserable slog? That's a perfect opportunity to plan your training. Or maybe hit that 5:30 am class (space is limited, so grab a spot while you can. 😉) You're out before the rest of the world wakes up, your workout is done, and the whole afternoon is yours.

Pro tip

Look ahead at the week's weather on Sunday evening. Block 2–3 days for training (ideally the rainiest ones) and protect the rest for outdoor adventures. Flexibility is the whole game.

The goal isn't perfection. It's consistency over time. Some weeks the trails win every single day, and that's fine. But when you build the habit of returning to strength work, even just twice a week, you'll notice the difference. More power on climbs. Fewer aches after big days out. A body that recovers faster and performs longer.

Vermont summers are short and glorious and we want you to make the most of every single one. That's exactly why we're here: to help you show up to the season stronger than last year, and the year before that.

So enjoy the trails. Soak up every minute of it. And on the next grey, drizzly Tuesday? You know where to find us!
